MORE: After-Christmas, end-of-year sales: See deals from Walmart, Macy's and moreAccording to Optoro, 2 out of 3 consumers will return at least one gift this holiday season.

Lori Bergamotto from Good Housekeeping told "GMA," "Remember, the gift giver wants to see you enjoy their gift. Do not feel uncomfortable about asking for a receipt."
Bergamotto added, "Be really mindful about holding on to receipts and tags because that is the best bet for a smooth return at the price the gift-giver paid."
Pro tip: Hold on to any unused gift cards, if you don't want them you can sell them back online for close to their original value.
Bergamotto finished, "Read the fine print, some stores allow online purchases to be returned at their brick-and-mortar store and some do not. If you can return in person, you'll likely save shipping fees."
Many retailers have extended their return window this year, but the terms are always changing.
If you do have to go to the mall during the busiest hours, be sure to utilize some retailer's curbside return option.
