YouTube Star Alejandra Costello's Home Organization Tips

WATCH: The Most Organized Woman in America Shares Spring Cleaning Tips

Alejandra Costello has turned her passion for organization into a career.

Costello, once named by HGTV as one of the most organized people in the country, is a YouTube star whose home organization videos have more than 60 million views.

“I’ve always been organized and love to create order,” Costello told ABC News’ Rebecca Jarvis. “Now I get to teach people how to do it.”

Costello, who partners with her husband, Ed Wotring, on their home organization business, said their method makes a difference in people’s lives.

“We change their relationships. We save marriages. It’s amazing,” she said.

Costello organizes items in her Virginia home by category and then by color. She said her fascination with organization is not an obsession but something that brings order to her family’s life.

“It’s about finding things when you need them,” she said. “There’s no stress. There’s no frustration when we put things away. There’s no losing things.”

She added, “I don’t think anyone would say, ‘I don’t want my life to be easier at home.’”

For those who want to kick their spring cleaning into high gear, Costello shared three tips.

1. Start Small: “A lot of people are overwhelmed when they think about organizing their house. But just start small, start in one drawer, start in one cabinet. Just make it really easy to do. Pick something that you know you can finish."

2. Keep It Simple: “If you don't like to organize, don't have a lot of stuff. The more stuff you have, the more you have to organize.”

3: Organize a Little Each Day: “At the end of the night, before you're about to go to bed or after dinner, set a timer for 30 minutes. If 30 feels overwhelming, try 15, and for those 15 minutes just put things away that are out of place. Clear your countertops. Something that's been on the floor for, like, a week, finally just put it away.”
