Tykes in bowties and Easter bonnets (and their photo-happy parents) swarmed on the South Lawn of the White House today for the 137th annual Easter Egg Roll.

More than 35,000 guests from all 50 states celebrated alongside celebrity guests like Nashville actress Connie Britton, Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III, chef Bobby Flay, and the cast of Disney’s “Newsies.”

Not in attendance: first daughters Malia and Sasha, who “had a little school stuff going on today,” according to President Obama.

But their parents – along with first dogs Bo and Sunny – emerged from the White House to supervise the Roll and pay tribute to the fifth anniversary of the first lady’s physical fitness initiative, “Let’s Move.”

Don't Bee Scared

During the president’s annual reading of Maurice Sendak’s beloved classic, “Where the Wild Things Are,” an uproar broke out after a child spotted a bee in the audience.

“Oh no, a bee!” Obama laughed as the kids screeched in fear. “Hold on, hold on – you guys are wild things! You’re not supposed to be scared of bees when you’re a wild thing!”

FLOTUS Busts a Move

First lady Michelle Obama and the “So You Think You Can Dance” all-stars rocked out to Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk” in honor of Mrs. Obama’s latest health initiative, #GimmeFive.

The first lady, an “honorary all-star,” was seriously into the jam.

“I’m just trying not to breathe hard!” she exclaimed after the performance wrapped.

POTUS Gets Bonked?

While playing a game of knockout , the commander-in-chief was almost bonked on the head with a basketball.

But Obama, who missed more shots than he made, laughed it off. He encouraged his teammates, engaged in some good-natured trash talk and even mimicked one little girl’s bouncy posture.

“That's a good defensive stance!” he said, laughing, as he bopped up and down.
