Donald Trump’s showmanship was on full display tonight at the Republican National Convention.
His "surprise" entrance came in the middle of a band’s rendition of “Brown Eyed Girl” right before his wife Melania addressed the convention.
Trump had previously confirmed that he would be stopping by the convention hall and briefly taking the stage, but made it seem like he was not going to try to steal her thunder.
While his brief remarks —- which only lasted about a minute —- may have been in keeping with that theme, the massive blast of white backlighting and an entrance with “We Are The Champions” may have given audience members another impression.

The delegates and supporters in the room weren’t the only ones taken aback by the dramatic entrance.
Some likened it to one of Darth Vader’s ominous appearances in “Star Wars,” Drago's entrance in "Rocky IV," or the futuristic set of the British game show “The Weakest Link.”
