Miller, of County Offaly, Ireland, told ABC News that on Aug. 17, he and his family took Sophie Flynn, 5, to meet her great-grandmother Brenda, 82, in the nursing home for the very first time.

Miller said that Sophie's mother Sarah was concerned that her daughter would be frightened by the encounter.

Instead, Sophie hopped onto the bed and began to stroke her great-grandmother's face, all while soothing her with song.

"She has late-stage dementia and is partially blind," Miller said. "She was smiling, tried to sing along with Sophie."

The video, which was posted on YouTube on Aug. 24, has since been viewed more than 400,000 times.
