Tonya Harding returned to the spotlight, this time sharing the red carpet with actress Margot Robbie, who portrays her in the new movie, "I, Tonya."

The pair met Tuesday night at the Los Angeles premiere of the film, a dark comedy about the former figure skater's life on and off the ice and her involvement in one of sports' biggest scandals.

Harding, now 47, saw her figure skating career come to an end after her ex-husband hired a hit man to club Harding's main rival, Nancy Kerrigan, in the knee, during a practice session for the 1994 U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Detroit.

Kerrigan sat out the championships, which Harding ultimately won, but she soon recovered and went on to win a silver medal at the 1994 Winter Olympics. Harding finished a distant eighth at the Olympics.

Harding denied any involvement in the attack but was banned from competitive skating for life. She also had to pay a $100,000 fine.
