Miranda Lambert may have been busy promoting her new album "Platinum" when she and husband Blake Shelton had their third wedding anniversary on May 14, but that didn't stop "The Voice" coach from doing something extra special she can enjoy when things slow down.
“By the time a week like this is over with her album launch mixed with CMA Fest, she’s just going to be a zombie,” Shelton told US Weekly earlier this month. "I drove down to Lake Texoma. We’ve got a boat down there and marina. I’m not a mechanic, but I managed to get this thing running, because I know when she gets back, she’s gonna want to do something like that -— just go and float around and drink and get pulled on the tube or something. So I thought ‘Well, I’ll get me some points in the end and get the old boat running.’ So I did.”

In fact, the "Based on a True Story" singer is pretty impressed of his handy work.
“I’m actually proud of myself,” he added. “She’s got a long way to go still. I just cry for her. It’s one thing for a guy to snap on a shirt and put some gel in my hair and be set; it’s a way bigger deal for a girl, and she’s gonna be exhausted.”
Shelton goes out of his way for the woman he married in 2011 because he said "she means so much." He admitted some negative tabloid rumors about the couple might have gotten to them a bit.
“I do think some of that early tabloid stuff that happened probably did have an effect on her. And I was upset for her to go through it," he said.
