5 Songs We Want to Hear During Super Bowl 50 Halftime Show

WATCH: Super Bowl 50: First Look at Coldplay's Halftime Show

When Coldplay performs during Super Bowl 50's highly anticipated halftime show Sunday, the British rock band will pay homage to the past, present and future.

The band has tapped Beyoncé and Bruno Mars along with a local youth orchestra for the performance in which they hope to turn San Francisco's Levi's Stadium into Glastonbury, the biggest music festival in the U.K.

"We wanted to bring that sort of vibe to the Super Bowl halftime show," Coldplay drummer Will Champion said at a news conference Thursday.

Lead singer Chris Martin added the show will be about "togetherness and acceptance and the things we really believe in."

But what songs will the band and its special guests sing? Here's to hoping they perform these five hit songs -- at least:

"Viva La Vida"

This hit from the band's 2008 album, "Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends" was written by the entire band. It's also one of Coldplay's most popular hits with an upbeat tempo. It'd be perfect to kick off the show to set the tone for an energetic performance.

"Clocks"

From "A Rush of Blood to the Head," this 2002 hit is one of Coldplay's oldest and most popular songs. We can't imagine Coldplay not playing this Grammy Award-winning song during the set. It's nearly synonymous with Coldplay!

"Yellow"

Although Coldplay just released "Hymn for the Weekend" featuring Beyoncé last month from its latest album, "A Head Full of Dreams," Martin said Thursday he didn't think the song "would be quite right." So what else could the two perform? It's a well known fact that one of Queen Bey's favorite songs is "Yellow," so perhaps she'll lend her vocals to a more upbeat rendition of the 2000 Coldplay hit.

"Locked Out of Heaven"

If Bruno Mars is performing, there's a 99.9 percent chance he's performing his 2014 hit single, "Uptown Funk." That's what most people would think, right? Right?! Still, if the Honolulu-born singer performed this 2012 song, it would be the perfect set up to end Coldplay's performance with...

"A Sky Full of Stars"

Imagine a dark football stadium as Coldplay performs this 2014 song from "Ghost Stories." It's the perfect inspirational track to play as fans wave their hands in unison.

Although it's anyone's guess, we'll have to wait until Sunday to find out for sure.
