A young cancer patient had a special moment with Pope Francis on Valentine's Day when she serenaded him with her rendition of "Ave Maria."

The pontiff was visiting the Federico Gomez Pediatric Hospital during a trip to Mexico City when he met the teen. In video from the scene, staff members could be seen wiping away tears as the girl finished her song.

Pope Francis gave the girl a hug after her moving performance on Sunday.

"I ask God to bless you, and to accompany you and your families, and all those people who work in this home and try to ensure that your smiles grow day by day," he said, according to the official Vatican Network.

Pope Francis is on a five-day trip to the country.
