Say Cheese!

NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory released its 100 millionth image of the sun, adding an incredible milestone image to what was already a star-studded photo album.

Capturing a photo of the glowing orb isn't as simple as pressing one button. NASA used four telescopes to capture eight images, which were then processed into one photo to create the entire picture.

In case you're wondering, the dark areas in the photo are areas of less dense gas, where NASA said solar material has moved away from the sun.
