A new mom is now a bride-to-be.
Michael Miles of Seminary, Miss., told ABC News that he didn't know exactly how he wanted to propose to girlfriend Triston Lowery, but the one thing he was sure about was that he wanted his baby to be physically present.
"She’s been asking me for months now when we were going to get engaged, and I just kept putting it off because I didn't want to propose until Lynleigh was there," said Miles.
Lowery delivered Lynleigh Nicole Miles last Thursday, and on Friday, Miles popped the question with the help of their new baby girl.
Miles dressed Lynleigh in a custom-made onesie with a special message on the front. "Will you marry my daddy?" the onesie read.
A family member recorded Miles' entire proposal on video camera, which showed a nurse wheeling in baby Lynleigh and handing her to Lowery. As Lowery read the engagement proposal on the baby's onesie, Miles pulled out an engagement ring, to Lowery's surprise and delight.
"She was really shocked and really emotional, it was just an exciting weekend for us," the new father said.
Miles credited his mother with coming up with the idea of using the onesie to propose, and said that mother and baby are both doing "great."
