The current world record lottery prize is a $1.586 billion Powerball jackpot won on January 13, 2016."
The winner could choose to be paid out in one immediate payment and then 29 annual payments. Or, the lump-sum cash option for the drawing is estimated to be $464.4 million.
The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 302,575,350, according to the lottery game.
Even though there was no Mega Millions winner declared on Friday, there was plenty of good news for participants across the country as Mega Millions said there were a total of 3,428,412 winning tickets at all prize levels.
