A 61-year-old man recently chased down a suspected robber who allegedly stole money he was going to use to buy lotto tickets at a Philadelphia gas station, according to surveillance video released by police on Wednesday.
The man, who was dressed in what appeared to be red and orange monastic robes, had been purchasing lottery tickets inside a Sunoco gas station when the suspected robber came up behind him and snatched about $350 in cash from his hand, the Philadelphia Police Department said in a news release.
When the alleged robber fled, the man chased after the robber and got into a struggle with him outside the gas station's convenience store, police said.
