Khloe Kardashian has officially filed for divorce from her estranged husband Lamar Odom.
It's been a tumultuous past few months for the pair, who married in September 2009, just weeks after they first met, in a star-studded wedding that was featured on "Keeping Up With the Kardashians."
After months of alleged drug use and infidelity on the part of her husband, reality-star Kardashian, 29, decided to call it quits. Legal documents filed today state that the dicorce is "based in irreconcilable differences," and that Kardashian has asked that her name be restored to Khloe Kardashian.
Aside from attending a Kanye West concert in late October, the couple hadn't been seen out together in public in months.
Kardashian also attended the Hollywood Reporter's Women In Entertainment breakfast with mom Kris Jenner and sister Kim Kardashian earlier this week, hitting the red carpet without her wedding ring on.
Odom, 34, also had been dealing with his Aug. 30 DUI arrest, to which he received 36 months' probation after pleading no contest. The police report from the arrest stated he "showed objective signs of intoxications," according to California Highway Patrol.
Pictures also surfaced in October of the former NBA player looking thin, haggard and worn down.
Look Inside: Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom's Struggles
While not commenting directly on her marital woes, Kardashian has given fans some insight into her struggles.
"I wish I were made of steel ... I'm not," she tweeted a day after Odom's arrest.
A couple weeks later, she posted a picture on Instagram with the caption, "She smiles to mask the pain in her heart. She laughs to conceal the tears in her eyes."
Odom, who reportedly checked into rehab for a single day following his arrest, recently broke his silence on Twitter, admitting that he was going through a "dark time."
But he defended his wife and her family for standing by him after his father, Joe Odom, with whom he is estranged, blamed the Kardashians for his son's woes.
Lamar Odom Uses Twitter to Defend Kardashians, Slam Father
"I have let this man and many others get away with a lot of s***. He wasn't there 2 raise me. He was absent ALL of my life due to his own demons. My mother and grandmother raised me," he wrote on Twitter Sept. 24, 2013. "For the first time since they left, came a blessing of a FAMILY that I married into. FAMILY. That man wasn't even invited to my wedding."
"He disrespecting the ONLY FAMILY that has loved me without expecting anything in return," he added. "They are the ONLY ones that have been here consistently 4 me during this dark time."
In the past, Odom has said on his and his wife's reality show, "Khloe & Lamar," that his father is a drug addict.
"He is my downfall!" he said. "His own demons may be the ONLY thing he gave 2 me."
He closed by saying that the only person he has to blame for his current situation is himself.
"Say what you want about me but leave the ones who have done nothing but protect and love me out of this! This goes to out to everyone!" he said.
The former couple has no children. Their property division will be governed by a prenuptial agreement.
