Holly Hunter is known for her dramatic roles in movies like "Raising Arizona" and "Broadcast News," but she says she jumped at the chance to star in the new action movie, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."

"I totally wanted to be part of this," Hunter, 57, told "Good Morning America" news anchor Amy Robach. "There's no downside to it. It's nothing but fun."

The Oscar winner plays Sen. Finch in the superhero movie and is surrounded by the likes of Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Jesse Eisenberg as her co-stars.

"It was interesting to be in a movie that had so much testosterone, all these incredibly powerful guys," Hunter said.

"And I thought that, you know, as a senator, she brought her female-ness to the job in how she listened in her curiosity, in her ability to evaluate," Hunter said of her character. "[It] felt very female to me."

Hunter had only high praise for 32-year-old Cavill, with whom she spent the most time filming.

"Henry is utterly adorable ... just a lovely guy," she said. "Utterly lovely."

"Batman v Superman" opens in theaters March 25.
