In case you hadn't heard, it's National Selfie Day and we're celebrating here on “Good Morning America” by trying to set a record for the most selfies taken on a morning show in one hour.
ABC News’ Sara Haines is doing the honors as selfie-shooter extraordinaire with Jesse Palmer as her selfie sidekick.
“I definitely think we are kicking some buns in the selfie game,” Haines joked this morning.
The bar has been set by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who holds the record for most selfies taken in three minutes: 105. That's the equivalent of 35 selfies per minute.
Everyone from presidents to popes, celebrities, pets and even plane crash survivors have perfected the selfie. The #selfie hashtag has been used more than a quarter billion times and counting on Instagram alone.
The toughest part of taking the best selfie?
“Looking adorable every time,” said Haines.
By the time “GMA” went off air, Haines had taken a whopping 1,177 epic selfies in total.
You can keep the fun going by tweeting “GMA” your best shots using the hashtag #NationalSelfieDay.
