WATCH: Meet Mary Lee, the Great White Shark Tearing Up Twitter

A great white shark spotted off the Atlantic coast and headed toward New York has become a celebrity in its own right, with her own Twitter handle to boot.

The research organization OCEARCH allows fans to track the all of the great white sharks it has tagged through its website and app, but at least one shark named Mary Lee, who weighs about 3,456 pounds with a length of 16-feet, has its own Twitter handle: @MaryLeeShark.

Another 14-foot-long shark tracked off the Florida coastline has its own Twitter handle: @Shark_Katharine. The accounts aren't affiliated with OCEARCH.
