One motorcycle rider in California is lucky to be alive — and he has the video to prove it.
Jesse Lopez was riding his motorcycle through the Angeles National Forest in Los Angeles, California, when he took a blind turn and crashed straight into an oncoming fire truck, ABC station KABC reported.
The 24-year-old’s collision with a Los Angeles County Fire Department truck was all caught on his GoPro helmet camera.

The camera spun off his helmet and landed on the ground before his friend grabbed it several minutes later as firefighters tended to Lopez’s injuries.
“When I saw what happened, I got shocked. I was like, ‘Whoa!’” Lopez told KABC.
Lopez has no memory of the April 1 crash and compared seeing the helmet-camera video to watching a movie about someone else, KABC reported.
He had two compound fractures in his left leg and a severely broken arm, but Lopez – and his GoPro – survived the crash. He is still recovering from his injuries nearly three months later.
“Especially head-on, you don’t think many people would survive that. Guess he’s lucky to be alive,” his friend Angelo Guerrero told KABC.
The firefighters were able to radio to a medical helicopter and Lopez was taken to a nearby hospital, KABC reported.
Nobody else was injured in the accident.
Lopez and Guerrero did not immediately respond to ABC News’ request for comment.
