Georgia Waiter Hailed a Hero, Helps Feed Handless Man

WATCH: Georgia Waiter Feeds Customer With No Hands

A Georgia waiter is being hailed a hero for helping a customer who couldn't feed himself because he had no hands.

Alex Ruiz, 22, was on a typical work shift on April 24 in Douglasville, Georgia, near Atlanta, when a man came into the restaurant where he worked, ordered a meal and asked for help. That's when Ruiz recognized that the man wouldn't be able to eat by himself without hands and sprung into action. He sat down in the booth, across from the customer, and fed him bites of food.

A heart-warming photo of their encounter has been making the rounds on social media with comments like, "Such passion, empathy and sweetness," and, "If you ever meet his parents, please tell them they raised an amazing young man" and, "This is a real man of God. May God bless both of these men."

The photo was captured by another patron, Reginald Widener.

"This seriously hit me right in the soul," Widener wrote on Facebook. "Still good [people] in the world."
