A Scottish chocolate factory is holding a delicious competition to find a real-life “Willy Wonka” to take on the task of tasting all the chocolate you can eat, and you don't need to find a golden ticket to have a chance.
"Anyone can apply of all ages," Karin Hayhow of Aberdeenshire, Scotland, told ABC News. "The minimum required is that you have a mouth and a love for chocolate."
Hayhow, the marketing director of Mackie's of Scotland, said the “sweetest job” offer was launched today in honor of its new chocolate factory opening in April 2016.
Lay's Mystery Potato Chip Flavors Revealed 'GMA' Ice Cream Sandwich Flavor RevealedThe company, which makes ice cream, is conducting the hiring process for the Chief Chocolate Tester in three phases, beginning with an application and one entry of your most inventive idea for a new chocolate bar flavor by the 12 p.m. deadline Dec. 3.
Mackie's will choose the best four lucky finalists, who will be invited to the company farm to put their tasting skills to the test.
"We want to know what they like, why they like it, and what's good about of chocolate they are tasting," Hayhow said.
After the tasting, Hayhow said the four applicants will be narrowed down to two.
The public will then vote on Facebook who had the most creative concept for a chocolate bar, ultimately deciding who will be crowned Chief Chocolate Tester of Mackie's of Scotland.
The job is a year-long gig and includes a package choc-full of exciting treats:
• Paid in, wait for it … seven bars of Mackie’s chocolate per week;
• Quarterly additional payments of chocolate to share with friends;
• 12-month role with flexible hours, based at a 180-degree angle on the couch at home;
• Trip to their family farm for a chocolate immersion session with the resident experts;
• Performance bonus if-when your chocolate creation flies off the shelves.
Hayhow said Mackie's has already drawn a few hundred applications on its website/a>.
