A car found in a canal in South Florida today has been linked to a 1978 missing persons case in which a then 15-year-old girl and her boyfriend vanished after attending a rock concert.

No remains were inside the car, which was found in the western part of the county, said officials with the Broward Sheriff's Office.

Harry Atchison, then 18, is the county's lone missing persons case from that year. He and his then-girlfriend, Dana Null, were last seen driving away in his 1969 Dodge Coronet from a home in Fort Lauderdale on October 7, 1978, after getting into an argument, according to missing person reports.
