Nathaniel Follette, 31, makes a face in his booking photo. Police say Follette was riding his bicycle inside of the Rancho San Miguel Market when the manager and security asked him to leave and he pulled out a pocket knife. Police say that Follette made a face to protest his arrest.

A man made a funny face for his mug shot in apparent protest of his arrest, but police weren't laughing.

Nathaniel Follette was arrested Sunday after riding his bicycle inside a Fresno, California, grocery store, according to ABC station KFSN-TV in San Francisco.

When a manager and security guard asked him to leave, he showed that he had a pocket knife and was allegedly still holding it when police arrived, KFSN reported.

His protest came in custody, when he crossed his eyes and partially stuck out his tongue while having his mug shot taken.

Calls to the Madera police station were not immediately returned.
