Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., has won the New Hampshire Democratic primary, ABC News has projected.
Based on the ABC News analysis, former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg will be second and Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., will be third.
Granite State voters headed to the polls on Tuesday for the first-in-the-nation primary. While Democratic presidential contenders were vying for 24 delegates, the Republican candidates were battling over 22 delegates.
For the Democrats, a win in the all-important New Hampshire primary could cement their status early as a front-runner and prove they have the staying power to last in a grueling primary. On the GOP side, as the incumbent Republican, President Donald Trump was set to capture a victory.
