Families across the country are gathering to eat and celebrate this holiday season.
"Good Morning America" sponsor Wells Fargo is partnering with Feeding America for the Wells Fargo Holiday Food Bank campaign to help put more holiday meals on more tables across the country.
Actress and cookbook author Tiffani Thiessen, who is a spokesperson for Wells Fargo, is showing just how far food bank donations can go to make a festive holiday dish.
Thiessen shared her recipe for a quick and easy no-bake trifle that uses minimal ingredients and can be made ahead of time.
Get Thiessen's full recipe below for her chocolate mint trifle.
Ingredients:
2 cups milk, cold
1 package of instant chocolate pudding
1 box mint chocolate cookies
Candied cranberries, for garnish
Coconut whipped cream, recipe below
Directions:
In a medium size mixing bowl, pour 2 cups of cold milk.
While whisking, pour 1 package of instant chocolate pudding mix, a little at a time, and continue whisking until the pudding has thickened.
If your pudding is starting to clump, you can use a hand blender and blend on medium until smooth.
It will be soft at first but allow to set in fridge with a piece of plastic wrap directly on the surface for at least 30 minutes.
To assemble:
Place 1/3 of the cookies in the bottom of a trifle dish.
Add a 1/3 of the chocolate pudding and then top with a 1/3 of the whipped cream.
Repeat two more times and then garnish with candied cranberries to finish.
Ingredients:
1 can coconut cream, chilled
1 tablespoon powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste
Directions:
Open the can of coconut cream and spoon out the thick, hardened cream into a medium bowl; reserve the watery liquid for another purpose.
Add the powdered sugar and vanilla bean paste and beat, using an electric mixer on medium-high speed, until fluffy like whipped cream, 2 to 3 minutes.
