McDonald's recently announced a sweet new seasonal treat that's a frozen riff on an all-American classic -- strawberry shortcake.
The golden arches confirmed to "Good Morning America" that, starting April 12, the new Strawberry Shortcake McFlurry will be available at participating U.S. restaurants nationwide for a limited time while supplies last.
After a snack-centric Instagram user first posted about the possibility of a new flavor earlier this month, McDonald's confirmed the news independently.
The Strawberry Shortcake McFlurry was previously only available in Singapore, where it is sold year-round and made with vanilla ice cream, strawberries and Oreo cookies. A representative for McDonald's shared that the stateside version will be made with the fast food chain's "signature creamy vanilla soft serve, strawberry-flavored clusters and crispy, butter shortbread cookies."
The website Krazy Coupon Lady was the first to report the news about the new Strawberry Shortcake McFlurry.
Eager fans should keep an eye on McDonald's menus and social media pages for more details about the limited time offering.
