Nashville may be the home of country music, but the city is also a rising hub for foodies.
But Donut + Dog is making waves by bringing a food pairing the city has never seen -- gourmet doughnuts and hot dogs.
"Who doesn’t love doughnuts and who doesn’t love hot dogs?" co-founder Will Primavera told "Good Morning America."
The restaurant combines the two classic American foods to "work like yin and yang together off themselves, and truly bring together sweet and savory onto one dish," said Primavera, who runs the restaurant with his wife, Nicole.
It's an unusual combination, but it pays off big time. Donut + Dog has won awards for both of its signature items from publications such as Nashville Scene and Reader's Digest.
Those looking to satisfy their sweet tooth can try one of the many doughnuts on display, such as the Sweet Baby Jesus, which has a triple creme brûléed shell and Madagascar vanilla filling.
The really adventurous foodies can try one of the eatery's indulgent doughnut burgers, which are equal parts rich and delicious.
Patrons in the mood for something savory can opt for one of the restaurants unique hot dogs, such as the Elote Loco, which features a chorizo dog, popular Mexican street corn called "elote" and cotija cheese.
If you're feeling thirsty, you can try one of the craft beers the restaurant has on tap or an artisanal coffee drink, such as a caramel latte that is smoked table-side.
You can even create your own beer and doughnut flight to satisfy all of your cravings in one sitting.
One thing Primavera is sure of is that "you will find, no question about it, the best brioche doughnut and artisanal dog you’ve ever had in your life."
