'Zootopia' Sets Record With First-Place Debut

WATCH: Disney's 'Zootopia' Excites Fans at the Box Office

It was a zoo at the top of the box office over the weekend.

"Zootopia" opened in first place after earning an estimated $73.7 million from Friday through Sunday. It's the best debut ever for a Disney Animation movie, surpassing "Frozen"'s three-day total of $67.4 million in 2013.

Disney is the parent company of ABC News.

The sequel "London Has Fallen" took second place, opening with $21.7 million. The action film stars Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart, Morgan Freeman and Angela Bassett.

After three weekends on top, "Deadpool" fell to third place, collecting $16.4 million.

Tina Fey's latest comedy, "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot," made $7.6 million to land in fourth place.
