Tiffany Haddish says she is taking parenting classes to prepare for adopting a child in the future

Comedian Tiffany Haddish is opening up about starting her journey to motherhood, revealing in a tell-all interview that she is considering adoption.

Speaking to E!'s Daily Pop, the "Girls Trip" star revealed the exciting news that she has already taken the first step by telling the outlet, "I'm taking parenting classes now to adopt."

Haddish, 41, said she is hoping to adopt a child that is age "5 and up... really like 7," as she wants the child "to know that I put in the work and I wanted them."

Haddish said she prefers adoption over surrogacy, and also discussed what would happen should she become pregnant.

She affirmed that, should she conceive a child with her boyfriend, Common -- they will immediately take a trip down the aisle. "Let me tell you, if I get pregnant, that is all God -- tearing down all walls, all barriers," she shared with a laugh.

In July 2020, the actress opened up on her fears in welcoming a child, sharing racism is a large factor that impacts her perspective on the subject.

"There's a part of me that would like to do that, and I always make up these excuses like, 'Oh, I need a million dollars in the bank before I do that, I need this, I need that,'" she said while talking with Carmelo Anthony on his podcast, "What's in Your Glass."

"But really, it's like, I would hate to give birth to someone that looks like me and then knowing that they're gonna be hunted or killed," she added.
