The one thing Jessica Alba and Cash Warren are '100 percent aligned on' while raising their kids

Jessica Alba and Cash Warren recently opened up on their parenting styles, including lessons they teach their children.

The couple, who have been married since 2008, have two daughters, Honor, 12, and Haven, 8, and a son Hayes, 2.

"One thing that Jessica and I are 100% aligned on is that we’re not raising a--holes," Warren told Drew and Jonathan Scott's Reveal Magazine. "If they get out of line, we’re not going to stand for it. We’ve tried to maintain the values our parents taught us."

Alba, who previously revealed she goes to therapy with her oldest, added that she doesn't "shy away from setting boundaries and routines."

"They have to make their beds. They have to set the table, clear the table -- those are no-brainers, right? They participate in taking care of the home and themselves," she shared. The actress added that her husband is the more "relaxed" parent of the two, while Warren described his wife as a "loving disciplinarian."

The couple also discussed how they work to emphasize the importance of helping others with their little ones.

"I’ve always told my kids that nobody chooses to be born in tough circumstances, and everyone deserves to be treated with dignity," Alba said, adding that their children participate in a charitable initiative with her husband's company, Pair of Thieves, every year.

"During the holidays, we adopt families and the kids help me pick out gifts and put lists together -- necessities like warm blankets, backpacks, and shoes but also books and toys, too," she explained. "I hope my kids always feel the need to give back."

The family recently celebrated Honor's 12th birthday in quarantine. "So proud of who she is today and I feel so blessed that her sweet soul chose me to be her mama," Alba wrote in a loving message on Instagram for her daughter.
