Taylor Swift fans are having the best Monday in a long time.
In a live streamed event on ABCNews.com, GoodMorningAmerica.com on Yahoo! and Yahoo.com, the singer revealed her latest single, "Shake It Off" and its accompanying video.
"I've had to learn a pretty tough lesson... that people can say whatever they want about us at any time. False rumors, yes!" she explained. "The only thing we can control is our reaction to it."'
Swift, 24, added that one choice is to "let it get to you, let it change you," whereas "option two is you just shake it off."

And thus, her song, which features lyrics including, "I go on too many dates/But I can't make 'em stay/At least that's what people say," was born. “Shake It Off” is just one track on the album she announced, called "1989," which will drop on Oct. 27 and is already available for pre-sale on her website.
"1989," named for the year Swift was born, is largely inspired by the late 1980s. Each album will come complete with a pack of 13 Polaroids taken by Swift, possible secret messages in the liner notes ("If you guys keep liking that i do that, I'll keep on doing it," she said) and, for super fans, the deluxe album will feature three voice memos that Swift sent herself while writing the album. However, to sate her fan base now, Swift also released the video for "Shake It Off," which she filmed two months ago.
"My idea was that life itself and who people actually are can be greatly reflected in how they dance," she said. "We basically decided we should get this huge group of incredible professional dancers [of all forms] and throw me into the middle of them and see what happens."
