Fans of romantic comedies, rejoice! Ryan Reynolds announced on Tuesday that he is taking on a new project in the genre in 2019.
The "Deadpool" and "Green Lantern" actor will star in the upcoming film, "Shotgun Wedding," about a couple whose destination wedding is interrupted by criminals.
Reynolds will produce with his own company Maximum Effort, along with Lionsgate and Mandeville Films. The film will start shooting as early as this summer, according to Deadline.
Jason Moore, whose projects include "Pitch Perfect" and "Pitch Perfect 2" will direct the film.

Reynolds has already starred in several successful romantic comedies, including "The Proposal" with actress Sandra Bullock, "Just Friends" with Amy Smart and "Definitely, Maybe" alongside Isla Fisher, Rachel Weisz and Elizabeth Banks.
"We’ve been looking for an opportunity to re-team with Ryan," Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman, of Mandeville Films, told Deadline.
"He’s a rare actor who can do it all and we are so excited to have found the right film for all of us. It’s great to be working with the talented Jason Moore and our great partners at Lionsgate.”
The film has reportedly not cast a female lead yet.
