Rapper Megan Thee Stallion wants to set the record straight about Sunday's incident in Hollywood Hills, during which singer Tory Lanez was arrested on a gun charge.

On Wednesday, Megan, whose given name is Megan Pete, issued a statement addressing what she described as the "inaccurate" rumors, adding that she suffered "gunshot wounds as a result of a crime that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm me."

In a caption on Instagram, she stated that the incident was both an "eye-opener and a blessing in disguise."

"I was never arrested," she wrote. "I'm incredibly grateful to be alive and that I'm expected to make a full recovery, but it was important for me to clarify the details about this traumatic night."

A representative for the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to ABC News that following a "shots fired investigation," Lanez, whose given name is Daystar Peterson, was arrested and charged for possession of a concealed firearm. He was released on bond. A statement from the LAPD also indicated that someone at the scene "was transported to the hospital and received medical treatment for a foot injury," but that person's identity was not revealed.

TMZ initially reported that law enforcement characterized the 25-year-old "Savage" rapper as a "victim" and added that she received a cut on her foot from broken glass.

In her statement Wednesday, Megan Thee Stallion added that she plans to focus what will, hopefully, be a quick recovery, "so I can return back to my life and back to making music as soon as possible."

"I hate that it took this experience for me to learn how to protect my energy," she noted.
