Princess Charlotte, the middle child of Prince William and Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, is turning 5.

To celebrate her May 2 birthday, the Cambridges shared five new photos of Charlotte, who has become known for her big personality in front of cameras.

The photos of Charlotte were taken last month by Duchess Kate at Sandringham Estate, where the Cambridges helped to pack and deliver food packages for isolated retirees in the local area, according to Kensington Palace.

Charlotte and her brothers, Prince George, 6, and Prince Louis, who turned 2 last month, and William and Kate are staying at their Anmer Hall home in Norfolk, following stay-at-home orders issued by the U.K. government because of the coronavirus pandemic.

William and Kate have been homeschooling George and Charlotte, who both attend Thomas's Battersea, a private school in London. The school switched to virtual learning last month, at the same time that U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson ordered all schools in the country closed until further notice.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge spoke to the BBC last month about what it's like to have all three kids at home full-time while schools are closed.

"Yeah, homeschooling is fun," William said with a laugh.

"But don’t tell the children we’ve actually kept it going through the holidays," Kate added, referring to school holidays in the U.K. "I feel very mean."

"The children have got such stamina, I don’t know how, honestly," she said. "You get to the end of the day, you write down all the list of the things you’ve done in that day. You sort of pitch a tent, take the tent down again, cook, bake, you get to the end of the day, they’ve had a lovely time, but it is amazing how much you can cram into one day, that’s for sure."

Last month, William and Kate shared a video of George, Charlotte and Louis cheering for the health care workers on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic.
