After cancelling shows in Tokyo and Seoul since falling ill last week, Paul McCartney's rep confirmed to ABC News that the singer was hospitalized for a virus.
"Since contracting a virus last week that led to the postponement of tour dates, Paul received successful medical treatment at a hospital in Tokyo," according to a statement from the rep. "He will make a complete recovery and has been ordered to take a few days rest."
The statement closed by thanking all the fans who have reached out with kind words for the former Beatle, 71.

"Paul has been extremely moved by all the messages and well wishes he has received from fans all over the world," it read.
His "Out There" world tour is scheduled to resume next month in the United States, the AP reports.
There was no confirmation of whether the singer has been discharged or still in the hospital.
