Fans on Twitter took notice Sunday night as "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" actor Luke Perry was one of the names not mentioned during the Oscars 2020 "In Memoriam" tribute.
Perry, most recognized for his roles in "Riverdale" and "90210," died after a massive stroke in Los Angeles, California, last February, his publicist confirmed to ABC News at the time.
The 52-year-old father of two appeared in Quentin Tarantino's 2019 film, for which Brad Pitt took home best supporting actor and which also won production design. "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" was also nominated in several other categories, including Best Picture.
In the movie, Perry played Western TV star Wayne Maunder who portrayed the fictional character Scotty Lancer. It was Perry's final role.
Still, Perry was left out of the Academy's nearly four-minute segment, as was 20-year-old Disney star Cameron Boyce, who died in his sleep after suffering a seizure in early July 2019.
Kobe Bryant was honored in the montage less than one month after the basketball legend was killed alongside his daughter Gianna and seven others in a helicopter crash on Jan. 26. Bryant, an Oscar winner himself, had his picture flashed on the screen.
