With the global unboxing for the next toy collection from "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" only hours away, ABC News takes you back almost 40 years to check out the first line. If you can believe it, it doesn't exactly seem like making "space toys," as they were called back then, was a sure thing for years to come.

Tune in to ABCNews.com at 5:30 p.m. to watch a live feed of the first unboxing in Sydney, Australia. From that point on, all craziness ensues with unboxings in Seoul, Honk Kong, Berlin, Paris, Madrid, and many more through to the next morning.
