Lance Bass never thought he would have the opportunity to marry the person he loves.
The former 'N Sync star has "been out and proud" to be gay since 2006, but only recently has marriage become a legal possibility with the demise of the federal Defense of Marriage Act and California's Prop 8 that limited marriage to man and woman.
"You feel 100 percent a human being to not be judged anymore," Bass told ABC News, promoting the project Love Is Changing History.
Through this collaboration for LGBT History Month in October, AT&T will donate $1 to The Trevor Project for every share of the website, videos or personal story submissions.
Bass, 34, got engaged to Michael Turchin, an artist and actor, last month and is planning to tie the knot next fall. He told ABC News that he might even broadcast the wedding on "a particular network," declining to say which one.
"I love a party. It's going to be nice and big and over the top," he said. "The network offered us a big wedding special. Knowing myself in the 1980s growing up a gay kid in Mississippi, I would loved to have seen something on TV I could relate to and go, 'Oh, my gosh, I could do that!'"

As for wedding itself, Bass said there's no tradition to follow and they plan on doing things "our own way."
"I don't know if we will even have groomsmen or bridesmaids," he added. "Since there's no wedding dress and half the excitement of a wedding is to see the wedding dress and what it looks like ... we're wanting all of our guests to come completely over the top, high fashion like you're heading to the MET Ball or the Royal Wedding."
The singer, actor and now director (he co-directed a short film for Love Is Changing History) also knows his ideal wedding setting.
"I've always dreamt of having an outside wedding, or at least the reception outdoors, that's why [next] fall," he said.

And for a honeymoon?
"There's lots of places we've wanted to go together, but have not found the time," he added. "One of those is Paris, one of my favorite places in the world. It would be nice to be able to experience that with Michael."
Bass says the couple haven't fought once in their three years together.
"I think it's just the universe telling me he's the one," he said.
