Katy Perry is heading back to "American Idol" soon, which means spending time away from her newborn, Daisy Dove.

The "Daisies" singer told "Entertainment Tonight" that because her fiancé, Orlando Bloom, has been able to take on full-time parenting duties in her absence, she feels more relaxed about the transition.

"It's hard a little bit these first couple of days away and not being able to be there," she admitted, "[but] I'm so grateful for this opportunity and for this job, and to be able to continue to inspire other people to go after their dreams. ... I mean, my life just feels very full and whole."

Perry, 35, who gave birth to daughter Daisy Dove in August, said previously that becoming a mother opened her eyes to how all-consuming parenthood is. She tweeted that a "popular misconception" is that "being a mom isn't a full-time job."

"When a mom finally goes back to work (whatever profession they do) it’s not like they been coming from months of 'time off...' she’s coming from a full time job... of being a mom," the "Smile" singer tweeted.
