The Kardashians’ Christmas Eve party is off this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Khloé Kardashian shared the news Sunday night, after a fan asked if the family was still planning to hold their annual bash.
"The Covid cases are getting out of control in CA. So we decided that we're not doing a Christmas Eve party this year," she tweeted. "It's the first time we will not be having a Christmas Eve party since 1978 I believe. Health and safety first though! Taking this pandemic seriously is a must."
Kardashian, 36, knows from firsthand experience that the virus is no joke. As seen on "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," she was diagnosed with COVID-19 in the spring and experienced symptoms including coughing and headaches.
"Next year, our Christmas Eve party is going to be so f---ing fire! Covid better be gone by next Christmas," she added.
She told fans the family nixed their annual Christmas card photo this year too.
The Kardashians previously came under fire for going on an island getaway in celebration of Kim Kardashian West’s 40th birthday in October. Around 20 to 25 people went on the trip; Kardashian West said they had all been tested and quarantined prior to traveling. Then, Kendall Jenner was criticized for throwing a mostly mask-less party to celebrate her 25th birthday. Kris Jenner, the Kardashian/Jenner family matriarch, defended the decision in an interview with Andy Cohen, explaining that all of Kendall Jenner's guests were tested before they were able to enter the venue.
"We live our lives trying to be just really good people," she said. "We're dealing with lots of people that have different opinions and all we can do is live our lives the best way we know how and be responsible and do the right thing, and we're doing that exactly."
