Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water ... MTV has announced that it's bringing back the original cast of "Jersey Shore."
A new series, "Jersey Shore Family Vacation," will bring back Deena Nicole Cortese, Paul “Pauly D” Delvecchio, Jenni “JWoww” Farley, Vinny Guadagnino, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino for a new series set to air sometime in 2018.
"Jersey Shore Family Vacation" will follow new episodes of "MTV Floribama Shore" at 10 p.m. on Monday nights.
Snooki pushes back against mommy shamers: I 'know what I'm doing' 'Jersey Shore' stars reunite for Sammi's 30th birthday partyThe original "Jersey Shore" ran for six seasons from 2009 to 2012. Last year, E! ran a series, "Reunion Road Trip: Return to the Jersey Shore," with most of the original cast members.
The show also spawned the spin-offs "Snooki & JWoww" and "The Pauly D Project."
Since filming ended, Polizzi and Farley got married and had children; Cortese wed her longtime boyfriend; and Delvecchio, who for several years had a DJ residency in Las Vegas, welcomed a daughter. Ortiz-Magro was more recently seen on the reality show "Famously Single," while Guadagnino went on to have two series of his own, "The Show With Vinny" on MTV and "Vinny & Ma East America" on the Cooking Channel. Sorrentino has had his ups and downs over the past few years: in addition to landing a reality show with his family, "The Sorrentinos," he also spent time in rehab to battle substance abuse and faced legal troubles.
Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola, who was also part of the original cast, does not seem to be making an appearance on the revival. She now has her own fashion company.
