Jennifer Lopez shared a Father's Day letter Sunday in which she wrote about her appreciation for her dad and her respect for fiance Ben Affleck, for his relationship with both his and her children.
"As I have grown and become a parent myself and learned more about myself and others, I see the importance and profundity of a great father in one's life and how the absence of it can cause deep lifelong wounds," the singer began in her note, which she shared in her newsletter.
Lopez then shared a number of thank-yous for her father, David.
"Thank you for being gentle with me, for being kind and always supportive of my dreams and my ideas," she wrote. "Thank you for not making me feel weird or alienated, but seen and sympathized with and understood when the 'fame game' came to town."
