Gordon Ramsay and his wife Tana recently suffered a devastating miscarriage, the celebrity chef revealed on Facebook.

The couple had been expecting their fifth child when Tana, 41, a cookbook author and TV personality, suffered a miscarriage at five months.

"We had a devastating weekend as Tana has sadly miscarried our son at five months," Ramsay wrote on his Facebook page Monday. "We're together healing as a family, but we want to thank everyone again for all your amazing support and well wishes."

Ramsay, 49, also thanked the hospital staff.

"I’d especially like to send a big thank you to the amazing team at Portland Hospital for everything they’ve done," he wrote alongside a photo of him kissing his wife at the half-Ironman race they both completed last year in Staffordshire, England.

The Ramsays are already parents to daughters Megan, 17, and Matilda, 14, and fraternal twins, Holly and Jack, both 16.
