"Clueless" is a timeless classic, starring the likes of Alicia Silverstone, Paul Rudd and Donald Faison.

But the cast could have been very different had some of the key roles gone to other young actors back in 1995.

The Huffington Post spoke to casting director Marcia Ross about some big names that almost made it into the movie.

First there was Travis, the stoner/skater who eventually finds love. Breckin Meyer got the part, but Ross said "Avengers" star Jeremy Renner was close to getting it.

"He came down to the finals as well for that. He was doing a lot of comedy in those days. He was very funny," she said.

Sarah Michelle Gellar was also up for the role of Amber and was offered it, but had a contract with "All My Children," so the role went to Elisa Donovan.
