Britney Spears appeared to deactivate her Instagram profile on Tuesday, leaving her millions of followers wondering what happened.
However, the pop star, who has been embroiled in a court battle over her longstanding conservatorship, quickly took to Twitter to clear up any confusion and allay concerns.
"Don’t worry folks … just taking a little break from social media to celebrate my engagement!!!!" she tweeted. "I’ll be back soon."
Spears, 39, announced over the weekend that she accepted a marriage proposal from her longtime boyfriend, actor Sam Asghari, 27. The couple met on the set of Spears' 2016 music video for "Slumber Party."
The happy news came just days after Spears' father, Jamie Spears, filed paperwork to end the conservatorship that has governed the singer's life since 2008. Superior Court Judge Brenda Penny still has to approve the filing.
This will be the third marriage for the pop star, who shares sons Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15, with ex-husband Kevin Federline. She was also previously engaged to agent Jason Trawick, from whom she split in 2013.
