Breaking down that 'Captain Marvel' post-credit scene

"Captain Marvel" soared into theaters this weekend, taking in $153 million domestically and well over $450 million worldwide.

Starring Brie Larson, the movie proved that this superhero needed no man in her corner to save the world.

But in classic Marvel fashion, there was a post-credit scene that really got fans excited for next month's "Avengers: Endgame."

Warning -- spoilers ahead for "Captain Marvel"!

In the end of "Infinity War," Sam Jackson's Nick Fury was able to fire off a page to Captain Marvel right before he disappeared with half the galaxy.

Now, after we've seen the full scale of Marvel's powers (wow, she rivals Thor in ability, strength and so much more!), she leaves Earth to help the once-villainous Skrulls relocate and find a new home.

In the film, the Skrulls were billed as the villains, but, we later find out, they are only on the attack because they are trying to locate and save their families.

In fact, it's the Kree race that is trying to crush and kill their enemy. The Krees have also been lying to Captain Marvel all along.

Now in the "Captain Marvel" post scene, we see Captain America, Black Widow and others looking at the pager, wondering where the signal was going.

Cap sees the pager stop and is about to send the message again, when Captain Marvel appears almost out of nowhere.

She's in her fresh gold and blue suit (from the comics) and says with no hesitation, "Where is Fury?!"

Fade to black.

It's short but super chilling and means we will see her yet again in "Avengers: Endgame."

Basically Larson's Carol Danvers has no limits as she flies into space and rips through ships like a hot knife through butter.

It's been said she's the most powerful hero in the MCU and will certainly be a key to defeating Thanos and resurrecting those that were eliminated in "Infinity War."

The whole gang shall return next month when "Avengers: Endgame" hits theaters on April 26!
