'The Bachelorette' Recap: Britt and Kaitlyn Meet Their Suitors

WATCH: The Battle of the Bachelorettes: Britt and Kaitlyn Meet Their Suitors

The new season of "The Bachelorette" began Monday with its two stars, Britt Nilsson and Kaitlyn Bristowe, meeting their 25 suitors ... and awaiting the results of a vote that will send one of them home.

After becoming acquainted with Britt and Kaitlyn, the men were asked to vote on which bachelorette they’d like to see continue in that role for the remainder of the season. They did so by placing a rose in a ballot box. We won’t learn the results until the second half of the two-night premiere airs Tuesday.

There were moments of awkwardness between Kaitlyn and Britt even before the voting began. Kaitlyn initially felt uncomfortable and perhaps a little jealous when she saw several of the men immediately approach Britt upon their arrival. In turn, Britt felt slighted when some of the other bachelors showed up to the mansion bearing gifts for Kaitlyn.

For example, JJ, a former investment banker, handed a puck to Kaitlyn, a native of Canada, and said, “I would love to puck you.” She thought it was hilarious.

Chris, a dentist, arrived inside a cupcake contraption because, he explained, he wanted to do something “sweet” for the two women. Get it?

One man, Shawn E., pulled up in a “hot tub car.” His entrance was sabotaged by Ryan M., who had a little too much to drink. Not only did he rub the other bachelors the wrong way, he also touched Kaitlyn’s butt during the cocktail party, much to her dismay. Things got so out of control that host Chris Harrison told Ryan M. he had to go home.

The episode ended with Harrison set to announce the results of the vote. Tune in to ABC at 8 p.m. ET Tuesday to find out which woman will continue as the “Bachelorette” this season.

For either Britt or Kaitlyn, it will be her second televised rejection this year, after both were eliminated from the Chris Soules edition of "The Bachelor."
