The couples on "Bachelor in Paradise" participated in final fantasy suite dates to help them decide whether they would continue as couples after they left Paradise.

Monday night's "Bachelor in Paradise" finale saw Tanner Tolbert propose to Jade Roper and the unexpected breakup of Joshua Albers and Tenley Molzahn.

After the shocking breakup of Kirk DeWind and Carly Waddell on Sunday’s show, the four remaining couples found themselves questioning the stability of their own relationships in the final fantasy suite dates.

Tanner and Jade, Joshua and Tenley, Nick Peterson and Samantha Steffen, and Justin Reich and Cassandra Ferguson each went on fantasy suite dates to help them decide whether they would continue as couples after they left Paradise.

After Tanner and Jade professed their love for each other, they spent the night together in the fantasy suite. The following day, Tanner didn’t hand Jade a rose. Instead, he gave her a diamond ring, dropped to one knee and proposed. She said “yes,” and the two were engaged.

The day after their fantasy suite date, Joshua wanted to continue his relationship with Tenley beyond Paradise, but she broke up with him, explaining that they lived so far away from each other and led different lives. The two drove away separately.

Cassandra, who only met Justin a day earlier, turned down a night in the fantasy suite, despite being “attracted” to him and acknowledging there was “chemistry.” However, she felt it was inappropriate for them to spend the night together. He wondered if this was a sign that she was “putting the brakes” on their relationship. His fears were put to rest at the house the next day when she accepted his rose, noting she feels like “the luckiest girl.” However, on “After Paradise,” immediately following the show, it was revealed that the two were no longer dating. They cited distance as the reason for the breakup.

Meanwhile, Nick, noting Samantha was “sexy and gorgeous,” had doubts about her feelings towards him. His doubts were put to rest when Samantha accepted his rose the following day.

Season 19 of “The Bachelor” premieres January 4.
