Alex Rodriguez shares birthday message for ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis

Alex Rodriguez recently shared a loving message for his ex-wife, Cynthia Scurtis.

In honor of Scurtis' birthday on Tuesday, the former professional baseball star posted several photos of himself with Scurtis and their two daughters, Natasha, 17, and Ella, 13, as well as Scurtis' current partner, Angel Nicolas.

Alongside the photos, Rodriguez gushed about Scurtis' impact in his life and how much respect he has for her.

"Today I am celebrating someone very special in my life," he wrote. "Someone who continues to make a difference in my daughters' lives every day and has my eternal respect and admiration. A very happy birthday to you, Cynthia!!"

Describing Scurtis as "a wonderful mother and role model" to their daughters, he elaborated, "You always put their needs first and have helped shape them into the strong young women they have become."

Rodriguez and Scurtis were married from 2002 to 2008. In his post, Rodriguez wrote about how grateful he is to coparent with Scurtis.

"I've always said that when it comes to co-parenting, I'm extremely lucky because most people only have a 50-50 split of time with their kids. With us, it feels more like 100-100," he wrote.

"Living in close proximity and working together despite busy schedules has allowed both of us to remain integral and active in the development of two young women whose future is limitless," he added. "And I have you to thank in large part for that."
